Action cameras are a great way to capture track time and learn from the footage. In this video, driver Steve Reed added another camera to watch the pedal box while running a track day event at Wakefield Park.

We tested a variety of Action Cams, read our coverage to find out which is best.

Am I mistaken, but are the distances from pedal surface to surface to be taken into account for a more precise/fluid execution...say for the lack of real knowledge/ experience, a 1" difference  between  the two pedals , with the accelerator receiving the booster block??

I find that toe-and-heeling is easiest if the pedals sit level with each other at rest. That way once you've pushed the brake pedal in a bit, the gas pedal is relatively more "shallow" and easy to hit.

With some vehicles it's easier to do a reverse heel-and-toe, keeping your heel on the brakes and tapping your toe on the gas. I do it all the time on my Samurai, where the gas is set deeper and hangs higher vertically than the brakes.
