Shopping for my first moped, i found this:

http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/710626846.html

I'm going to e-mail and ask a few questions (mileage, etc.) but how does it look from the ad? Any opinion is appreciated.

thanks!

Jacques

I rode mopeds for a long time in my youth. That one seems OK I guess. If it's stock you shouldnt' have to do much to keep it going. Sometimes it might need new points/condenser and you'll have to switch spark plugs a lot more that on a 4 stroke. Other than that you just have to make sure you mix your gas correctly (if it doesn't have pre-mixer). No engine braking to speak of on two strokes either... Most mopeds can be bored out and many Italian companies make hop-up parts. Mine would go about 60 but it was souped up.

lotsa fine folx over at Moped Army. Looks like Vespa 'peds were manufactured by Piaggio and are respected by the community. Not sure what model that is... Looks like the moped wiki over there only has info on the Ciao and Si models.
