Just post something controversial like, maybe hotlinking and you'll be on your way. The slower way - build some stuff, break some stuff and ask/offer your thoughts about it (or someone else who built some stuff or broke some stuff).
I know 1,000 gets you to Dork status...I'm not sure what my next level up is...anybody have the complete list & post count?

Much harder to do that on a small screen with the add post button below the preview box. I think I'm understanding the change.

I tend to be one of the highest-post-count users that doesnt post in the off-topic sections on car boards im on. Filter out the chaff and im one of the most prolific actual-car-content posters in posts per time on the forums i visit.
I tend to dislike forums that read like chat rooms. That's one of the reasons i cant get into SomethingAwful in spite of the troves of interesting people and topics.
