You guys remember the rear-engine Shelby Charger model I did up as a Challenge car? Well I took it (and a bunch of other models) to the Oregon Society of Scale Modelers show over the weekend and placed 1st in the Miscellaneous class! It got some rave reviews and a lot of questions about the Challenge (and yes, I always pose it with the info cut out from the magazine).

My Lincoln LSC won Pro Street, the A6M2 Zeke got 2nd in Military Aircraft, the ARC170 got 3rd in Sci-Fi, and the Q-Ship won the Marine class and Best in Show Marine. My kids did well, too, as my daughter entered her boats into the adult Marine class and placed 3rd! She also won People's Choice overall (including all of the adult models) for her rainbow Indy car (and no, we don't pad the vote, they aren't allowed to vote for any of our models) and Best in Show Junior for her funny car.

You took home a lot of hardware!  Nice work.

Very Cool.

Adding a little to the story is that for $2015, The Challenge Trophies were based on model cars.  These are the two that reside at my house:

Man, I forgot about that sweet limo we built. Can you tell we were locked in my tiny one-car garage sniffing glue and varnish for that trophy building session?

In reply to Tom Suddard :

Bought models, not made models for $2014 (but also cool)

Very cool models (congratulations to all!) and a great way to have family time.
