Is a Lexan windshield legal for the $2009 Challenge? I saw it in the budget for the Batvan a few years past, but I wasn't sure if it met the current rules since the rule rule mentions that "glass" must meet all safety requirements. Unfortunately, the windshield for my prospective Challenge car is not common and will cost me around $600 before installation.
The only people who do a serious tech inspection are NHRA guys. Check the NHRA rule book and meet their specs and you are in.

Some web research shows that 1/8" Lexan is NHRA legal. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's Challenge legal, does it?
Yes, it's challenge legal.
Actually, all the lexan/plexi(?) installed on the rabbit was found in a friend's basement when he moved into his house. He traded it to me for my stock Rabbit exhaust. I have no idea what the hell it is, and it seems pretty thin, and it always passes. But I'm using it in everywhere but the windshield, if that matters.
