No one hurt.

Surprisingly not a pile of scrap or split in 2. Just slid along on the rails. Totaled for sure, but... surprising.

Some engineer did an outstanding job at designing that stretch. I would have expected it to fold in the middle after taking out the xing signal.

Well done.

I always thought the center part of limos would be the weakest. But last year I watched the 5th gear guys crash test one. Turns out the center is stupidly strong and overbuilt.

This was a good video, the crossing lights got taken out like paper mâché.

I guess the frame reinforcement was reasonably well done. I expected that thing to fold up like a pretzel.

We have several crossings like that and they get a lowboy trailer every couple of years.

not only did the frame hold up well.. but the windows did not even blow out. Very little body flex on that limo.

An accident like that has to be every train engineers worst nightmare.. knowing you are about to hit a car (or truck) and knowing that there is nothing you can do to stop or even lesson the collision due to simple physics

I love the guy standing 20 feet in front of the limo waving a red flag like this Will work, he will see me waving and stop before he hits it.

The limo was helped a lot by having the frame sliding along the tracks. After the initial hit, once it off the crossing, not a lot of friction.

This was literally miles from my house!!!!! In fact I got stuck at a crossing further down the track and swore profusely after sitting for about 15 min. without watching the train move an inch before I finally gave up and found another route. Turns out it had a very good reason not to! This whole area is TERRIBLE for train traffic and it doesn't help that the tracks basically bisect the city (three of them for that matter) North to South. If you live on the East Side of the City you are pretty much screwed. It's a major hub for train traffic heading towards Chicago in Indiana.

sounds like Reading PA... train line runs right thru downtown. You can literally sit there for 45 minutes while a couple hundred car long train rumbles by at 5mph.. stops, backs up to hit a different siding, then surges forwards again on the other track.

In typical Reading style.. they have been debating what to do about this issue for over 100 years and have never done anything to alleviate the congestion is causes

I like when the limo driver asks the engineer Did you see me? Like if he was paying attention he could have stopped
