I picked up a JDM Cappuccino at about importer a month ago. I have all the import/export papers and a bill of sale. I need a in-person VIN inspection and title application to get driving, so I can't do the transaction via mail. The DMV is open by appointment only, with online scheduling.

I've been trying to make an appointment on the DMV website every few days since I got the car, and every single time, every single DMV location comes back with something along the lines of "Schedule full. No appointments available." Anyone know what day/time they release the new batches of appointment openings?

I am fully aware I could drive it around with my BOS and import paperwork to show if i get questioned, but that isn't a long-term solution, and I really don't fancy carrying everything associated with legally transferring the car...in the car.

I had to renew my license in June so I made an appointment in May. They called a few weeks after I applied for the appointment online and set me up for mid August.  It took a while, obviously.  The actual appointment was wonderful.  I was the only customer there and it took all of 8 minutes in and out the door.  I recon the more relaxed pace was a net positive for the dmv employees as they were uncharacteristically friendly and helpful.

This was in Eugene.

Once you get past the scheduling issue I bet you will get great service.

Alright! I found a couple January openings within a 50-mile radius this morning, so I booked one! FWIW, I had the best luck in the McMinnville, Newberg, Sherwood area. smiley
