Since they have owned the place for 15 years I'm gonna guess it runs in the black. I've been there many times, really like it.

I doubt they'll take my Visa as payment so if anyone here wants to buy this, I could relocate and be the resident manager.
A little out of my price range, but if I were to own a hugely popular motorsports magazine, I'd probably feel the need for a proper home base like that.
CMP is a blast... Not the most technical track on earth but very entertaining.
I hope the future owners manage it as well as it currently is.
I have no affiliation with the ownership or management, speaking from the POV of a customer the place is in pretty good shape as far as buildings and infrastructure. The present owners have done some upgrades and repairs, the track surface overall is in good shape but will of course need repaving in sections.
The one real upgrade that I see as needed quickly would be the concessions; I think they are leaving $$$ on the table there, the current building is very small and doesn't have a lot of sit down area, it's also open to the elements. My knee jerk reaction for that would be to expand and modernize the size of the current facility and rent it out to a restaurant owner or chain rather than try to run it themselves.

This, more facilities need to do this, lease the space out highlighting the captive audience. you're in the track management business, not the restaurant business. (bonus points for getting the grease from the grease traps to make bio diesel for track maintenance and support vehicles though.

I thought about this before too. Might even be a good idea to get a 'franchise' like gas stations do for food prep, or even something like a subway. That way someone else has figured out lots of the hard stuff already and you can focus elsewhere.
Not the only place for sale right now: http://www.pacificraceways.com/index/14-09-26/Legendary_Raceway_Offered_For_Sale.aspx

dang … I'd hate to see a chain get the concessions … that is some of the best track food I've had in a long time … lots better than VIR
but I do agree that the amenities could be improved

If you have to ask the price, you can't afford it.
Might be one of those things.
I'm sure they have a target price … but I'm also sure they want to hear what potential buyers might offer, and go on from there
I don't think I have a chance of buying it but CMP is a great, fun track. I just hope the new management keeps it fun.
So, if, hypothetically, the Tunachuckers made a real crowdfunding effort to buy this thing, how many of you would pitch in? Tunachucekrs LLC has a nice ring to it.
In reply to Curmudgeon:
Don't you dare let them put a chain there. The chicken salad sandwhich is awesome
I'm of the opinion that all of the regional clubs should pool their money together. Operate it like a co-op.
I just ran at CMP for the first time, at the LeMons race. I liked the track, and had a lot of fun. Maybe it was just me, but the track seemed much slicker than the other road courses I've been on...especially if you got out of the racing line. I noticed the infield paddock is very sandy, I'd guess a lot of that sand gets on the track. I got my first black flag ever...in my 8th race...for spinning and going 4 off. It was the first right hand turn after the backstraight, turn 12. That corner gave me fits all weekend.
That said, if someone buys the track, we're now best buddies.
