I don't think it's for a windage tray or anything like that. Maybe for a pickup in the rear sump?

well, it's only for the oil pickup tube if you run a rear sump oil pan... otherwise it's just kind of there doing nothing.

lol, that's what I figured. Good thing I'm going to use a rear sump pan for my 302 Miata. While I have your attention, guys, what is your opinion on windage trays?
