With over 120 cars under my belt and being down to only the MINI and the K75 for most of the year, I saw a stray that needed a foster home, and I have never had a Mercedes.
I forgot to upload the interior pics, so I'll get those when I add this to my reader rides.
Anyway, it's a '90 560SEL. I feel like a president's driver, and my 6yo daughter says she feels like a princess riding in the back with her reclining and heated rear seats. It needs some love, but it runs strong and it was under a grand. 22 years ago, this car was $83,000 and change. Now for a little more than 1% of that, I am eligible to join the Armenian mafia. :D

I was thinking about another P71, or another LS400, or maybe a Q45, or an E32... Then I found this two miles from home. :)
If you can find them and not to expensive, I'd drop some coin for a set of Euro Spec head lights. They clean up the front end very well.
i would check the engine wiring harness. you do have a 1990 some came with the bad insulation on them it cracks and falls off then causes fire that is why i will not buy any 90 to 96 unless the upgrade has been done and SL's are real bad
but very nice looking car and good luck with her

Here in MI, registration cost is based on the ORIGINAL MSRP of the car. My 92 300D is about $180 to register. My car was $42K new, so that would cost almost $400 a year to register here
I had a customer in Philly who had a white one with 180,000 miles on it - I told him to let me know..........but he traded it in.
Great find for you!

No, I think you are thinking of piranha.
I'm partial to them, this one was a 1991 modified by AMG West. Original price 138000!

Really? Those are 16x9.5 and 16x8 which are one year only.
Hey Woody, real AMG/ATS pentas or Ronal R9s?
I haven't seen too many Gen 2 pentas, they are a rare bird as the offset has to be pretty high to clear the upgraded front calipers.
You cannot put pre-85 mercedes wheels on post 85 cars so don't get any funny ideas. The rim for a w126 like that is the AMG Oz two piece or three piece or a set of bbs r??.
A bit pricey but I'll just leave this here:

I love those cars. Good find. What I like about them the most...the sound their doors make when you close them. For that reason alone they are worth owning to me. Even the newest ones don't sound like that. Nice find for a nice price
I think the wiring harness problems started in 92 with the w140, the w126 is safe. Very important, check under the brake master cylinder for leaves, the resistor for the blower motor is in there and if you run the blower without cleaning the leaves out it will start a fire.

no its 1991 and up but some 1990's came thru with it. the insulation is suppose to be bio-degradable the problem is it started degrading way too soon. how i found out about this is i sold a 92 500SL to a lady 4 years ago. the car was perfect with 27k miles on it and a month after i sold it to her a major engine fire. its easy to check for.

I think it could be fun to own a car like this, but not long term. Unfortuantely, my g/f has this thing about buying a car without the idea of keeping it 'til the grave...

Are you singlehandedly trying to start your own meme where you ask about the pixels whenever you're jealous about someone's car purchase?

Just for giggles, I did a CL search here for Mercedes, 100 to 2000. I was amazed at what popped up. Some really sweet looking cars, up to '99 or so. Cheaper than Camrys.
