no E36 M3.
That last one, the pickup version is the berkeleying perfect.
My dad was looking at Defenders when they were new--the very last year. They were just out of his price range, but he thought they were really cool. Ended up with a used Mercedes. When he went to sell it, he also looked at the Defender prices. He really wished he hadn't.
Just found a '96 Disco on local CL. Asking 2K. Decent looking, decent miles, but they say it overheats after half an hour. Any ideas? To me, overheating is a function of waterpump, radiator, thermostat, but this is from a dealer. EDIT- Asking price is 1200.00

That.
Could be a sunk sleeve too. They do that after the hg has been bad for a bit. My buddy is a LR mechanic and told me to skip anything that 'needs a headgasket' as it could be much more involved and LR motors aren't cheap (even used/junkyard).
These things beg for LS1/4l80e.
There's a defender local to me for $17,500. If i had the money or felt like taking out a loan, i'd have it today.
