Anyone done that?
A cooling system, headlamps, tail lamps and adventure awaits.
First a pedantic point of order; a Super Vee is a 1600cc car with wings not to be confused with a Formula Vee.
I seem to recall having seen two people having done this; the head lights were mounted on the front beam along with mini turn signals. All of the stock VW street gear could easily be fitted. Removing the rear cowl would allow one to mount the dog house fan.
It's going to be really dependent on the state one tries to do this in.
Never a Vee, but I saw a Modified dirt car leaving a grocery store once. Wonder where he put the groceries?
First hit on google for me. I would drive this soooo hard.

There is an FB page all about street legal roundyround cars. Very cool to see them with lights and plates.
I was thinking it would be instant death, but considering how "safe" a mid 60's Bug would be... Probably want something flying off the back of it with some height to show people it's there.

You mean, like a wing?
I've wanted to build a lotus 49 for the street for years. Man, would that make commuting fun. Until I died.
So heres the thing...
The one in the video looks big for a Vee.
The regular FV pictured up above, how do you feel about being utterly invisible. Worse than a motorcycle?
A pickup truck could pull up behind you and lose all sight of you.... You come up on the passenger side of a pickup truck on a two lane road. Driver doesnt see you and merges lanes into you, literally running you over. Hell, it wouldnt even take a truck, many high beltline cars would have the door tops higher than your head.
Its an awesome idea, until you drive it around all the idiots on the road...
My young co-driver is positively jonesing to hang enough mirrors and turn signals on the Zoomboni to make it street "legal".
It feels like it would be a short existence from there.
My friend Don has a 1959 Formula Junior OSCA, Fiat engined racecar that he vintage races with VRG and sometimes VSCCA. It was his Dad's. It was brought over in 61 or 62. Anyway, when Don went to UVM in the mid 60s he put lights, horn, fenders, etc on the car and drove it on the streets of Burlington, VT. He has no pics of it, but the Burlington Free press did an article on it with a pic. I just need to find a copy.
Is it that much different than a Lotus 7? (Not saying that makes the StreetVee any safer or anything.)
Many years ago a group of us were going to Disney World. Our bus took some sort of toll road and as we pulled into a toll booth an Indy car comes screaming by. IIRC it was Eddie Cheever driving and they were filming some sort of promotional video on an open public highway. My sons thought it was the coolest thing they had ever seen.
