i know a few people on here are using microsquirt and wondered if you could answer a couple of questions i have
1. i know the earlier MS was troublesome to get working with the stock ignition but from what i gather the ms2 and microsquirt can drive the stock ignition coil?
2. can the microsquirt control the TVIS system?
3. can do it closed loop boost control?
4. can it do closed loop AFR for idle / cruise?
5. i have a 3 bar GM map sensor from a previous project so i know i will need an IAT sesnor, other than that, can i use all of the stock toyota sensors?
and any tips on the install would be much apreciated
I know microsquirt is a it more limited but I know megasquirt can do all the above. You can even use the toyota IAT or was that only on the gen3? And someone here recently did a microsquirt 3sgte

Most of the problems were related to MS1. There's two sensors, the MS1 has only one interrupt channel for precise timing captures. So the second trigger used a lower priority method that could sometimes delay the ECU seeing the "G" signal until after a second tooth went by on the primary tach input.
MS2 and the MicroSquirt have more interrupt channels, and don't have this problem. The MicroSquirt also has two VR conditioners and a logic level spark output, so if you're using the stock ignition module it's pretty easy to set up.
2. can the microsquirt control the TVIS system?
Yes, use the ALED or WLED output.
3. can do it closed loop boost control?
Yes, although on a MicroSquirt, you need to give up the PWM idle control to run boost control.
4. can it do closed loop AFR for idle / cruise?
Yes. You can even do closed loop AFR under boost if you have a wideband setup.

Definitely - that's about how we run the 3SGTE motors with the MSPNP. Reason we don't use the Toyota IAT is that it's upstream of the turbo, intercooler, and everything else that changes the air temperature.
Yes, microsquirt can handle a 3SGTE and all the goodies, I'm tuning mine now.
I used old documentation to get my ignition working and ground some teeth off the wheel in the distributor, if I could start over I'd run the second channel on one of the other wheels in the distributor and not have to deal with my ground off teeth.
You'll need to use the injector resistors if you want to run low impedence injectors, microsquirt can only drive one low impedence injector per circuit as opposed to some of the other megasquirt systems.
This is my first MS project, so it's been a learning experience.

thats great info, much appreciated, will no doubt be back on here with more questions when i come to fit it
