You decide.

What scares me is Akron Canton, I did a 6 month stint there and most newer cars were sporting meth...err I mean rust sores...
They look to have less rust on them than the last Fiat I restored... and Ohio ins't that far away. Thank god I just spent all my money on my BMW...
It hard to imagine a more appropriate ad for this crew of hooligans...Maybe add a Wartburg to the pair for ultimate want.
Those sorts of cars were often parked in the winter in northern states, so they aren't necessarily going to be all that bad for rust.

Back 2010, the greatest CL posting ever popped up on Cleveland CL:
'85 Maserati Biturbo (twin turbo intercooled) with 37K miles, titled, needing minor restoration (wiring, exhaust, seat covers, one turbo rebuilt) for $2,500.
'72 Lotus Europa racecar, not street legal (bill of sale only) rebuilt RARE twin-cam BIG VALVE enging with dual WEBER head, rebuilt and powder-coated trans, frame redone, most fiberglass done, new windshield, most parts to finish. Dynoed engine according to previous owner. Minilites, fender flares, built-in roll bar, and will make awesome track car when done. $5,000
'77 Matra Bagheera S -- 3-seat mid engine sportscar, titled, likely only RHD Matra here in the US, Hodec conversion from England and still has its English license plate on the front. small crack in corner of windshield, 4-speed SIMCA engine, Campagnelo wheels, sunroof, GT unibody fiberglass bonded to metal, needs interior freshening and tires, awesome performance. $5,000
Might trade for backhoe with trailer, 4x4ATV, Harley, or combination cash and partial trade. Don't need a job, so don't ask....
"...and would need redone."
That particular method of expression is what keeps me from answering ANY add for anything. Creeps me out.
Seriously, that should be one of the items on one of those "10 ways you know you are a redneck" skits.
Wow, that is danger close! I've always wanted an X1/9, but I'm currently very poor, have no trailer, no time, and a mostly non-started project already in the garage.
Burrito, just find Akron, then look slightly southwest into farmland. Nice rural area close to awesome bike/sports car roads.
Its a good thing they are not closer to me. Also, X's usually rust where you can see it, so there are normally no bad surprises waiting under the skin. I miss mine.
I still have a nearly insatiable desire to build one of these with a new abarth drivetrain for SSM or XP.

Because the combo he posted from that seller had more insanity than all the rust in all the Fiats of the world combined...

I'm replacing blown brake lines on an '09 Eclipse tomorrow.
Also: That generation Eclipse is probably the most butt-ugly thing Mitsubishi has infected our continent with. I ain't being biased, brake lines is brake lines, but that vehicle got no alibi. It's ugly.

It's almost invigorating, you know? It's like, people from the rest of the country whine about there being some discoloration on bolts, but us N.E. Ohio guys? We're made of sterner stuff. We see things every day that would make most men hide under their beds, and we forge solidly amidst such cancerous metal without a care.
Or: COME AT ME, BRO! I AIN'T FRAID OF NO RUST
(in other news, I managed to get that bottle of Elijah Craig open!)
I just clicked the link and now really really wish I didn't.
One of my friends puts/used to put/shall put again K20 and K24 engines in those cars, some with forced induction. I believe he has reported that there were grins involved upon road-testing to verify adequate performance.

I grew up in New England, same thing as NE Ohio from the road treatment in the winter, but you're spot on - once I got to Atlanta I've been spoiled...seriously...I was replacing a fuel filter on my 07 Ranger a few months back and was sad to see a little spot of rust forming on the head of a bolt...otherwise I could eat of the bottom of the truck...my brother is still in CT and has a Ranger, same year...bottom of his doors are disintegrating...I feel for ya, but also applaud your resilience

This. I could easily see myself ripping the drivetrain out of our LeMons Civic Si and making a LeMons car plus having another to bop around the street with...
I've always been a rust belt dweller, grew up in MA, now in OH. I've been pretty immune to the rust thing and just accept it, but the brine and other evil stuff they've been using on the roads the past few years drives me insane.
I can't begin to express the joy of working on my (still non-functional) Texas Saab.
