Today I stopped at a body shop to get a price on my neon acr, some small dents from a tree that fell on it, minor hail, couple door dings and a rusty rocker. While I was there I asked for a rough estimate on painting my Kelmark GT, its glass so there is no rust to fix on it, no dents. The price 5K, same as the neon.

I thought the price for the neon was on the high side but not outrageous, but for the Kelmark, wow, sand, prime, and paint, nothing special, trying to keep this cheap as I dont want to be afraid to scratch it, I want to drive this thing, a LOT.

So I started thinking about wraps, some searching turned up a place in NH that will do a yaris for about $2K and a mid size for $2500, sounds reasonable, especially after hearing $5K for paint.

Any one ever have a fiberglass car wrapped ? How did it turn out ? Did you pull the wrap off and did it have any adverse effects on the glass?

Thanks, Steve

PS: Down the road, I hope to have the Kelmark GT on a mid engine chassis, maybe a FF 818 chassis.

If you have the time wrapping a car at home with the larger format cast films is actually pretty easy. Maybe 200-300$ in total materials.

They wrap corvettes all the time so composites should not be a issue but if the glass is sagging it will show.

Lots of stock cars get wrapped. I suppose the panels don't generally last as long as you'd like your car to, but...

No issues wrapping fiberglass. Solid color wrap vinyl is available in 60" rolls and your cost will be somewhere between $3.00 - $4.00 per square feet. Solid vinyl installed by a wrap specialist may run about $8.00-$12.00 per foot.

Here is a link on the Noble forums to a Noble M400 that is for sale. Its fiberglass and its owned by a guy that does custom vinyl. The car is pictured in several different vinyl wraps. Really cool!!! http://www.nobleforums.com/showthread.php?11043-For-Sale-Noble-M400-Chassis-119
