There is a TR-6 sitting under a shed nearby.  It's been there at least ten years.  Vines have started up the passenger side front fender.  I have so far resisted the urge to stop and ask the question.

Refresh the NA8 (225,000 miles).  Repaint to the original color, New carpet, seat covers.  14" inch steel wheels with an appropriate chrome dog dish hubcap.  Was my daily driver until retirement.  Currently a $ 1,000.00 car.  Maybe.

Rebuild the 250 I6 (175,000 miles) in the '68 C-10.  Spend vast sums of money to drag 250 HP out of it.  Instead of swapping in a junkyard LS for way less money.  Not to mention a transmission upgrade.

Repaint the '88 Suburban (122,000 miles)  Original paint is worn through and I have the idea this 16 MPG dinosaur could pass as a daily driver for Mrs. SuperDave when her Odyssey ('09 w/220,000 + miles) gives up.

Fortunately any funds available for these worthy projects was spent late last week for the purchase of a new boat.

Dodged a bullet on that didn't I.

I've sometimes wanted to use an old school air cooled VW Beetle as a daily driver. At least anything that breaks should be an easy fix!

Ive been wanting to build a B6T powered Festiva for about 18 or 20 years now.  By 2008 I had accumulated the Capri XR2 and a "Ohio rust free" Festiva to make it happen but then I went back to school, and sold the pieces for pennies on the dollar.  I have since moved states twice, continued to engage in various automotive hijinx (Crapcan racing/Jeeps/BoogieVans), and I am still haunted by that dream....

Comenche. I came close once but resisted. So I think I'm good.

Otherwise, Stratos replica but that is out of the budgetary realm.

A bad idea I'm often tempted by is to get another Jag XK despite losing my shirt on the last one.

On the other hand, the 'terrible idea' project car I continue to pine for is an old lightweight roadster powered by a screaming superbike engine.

When I had lot's of energy I had lot's of bad ideas, and a lot of them turned into projects.  But now that I'm old and lazy I don't even entertain them. Although I just bought a Kia and some might think that's a bad idea

Put a V12 Jag in a TR6  since it's only 22 inches wide at the exhaust it would fit like a glove. I doubt there is more that 70-80 pounds difference between the weight of the engines.
But since a V12 makes more power than a 454 I doubt that rear end would last.

Is that an early skater? First boat that took me to over 100 mph. Also introduced me to the unique feel of a tunnel hull on rough water. Lots of neat ways for things to go way wrong when trimming these out at high speed.

Go for it!
