A lot of people say the catera but having worked in a gm dealership during its heyday if you got a hold of one that had ALL the recalls taken care of they were damn nice and quick little caddys. To me it has to be the sebring, I never saw one that didnt have issues out the wazoo
I would nominate the 1978-1979 Ford Thunderbird.
Can a Sebring be called a "sporty" car? I did borrow a convertible Sebring once for about 20 minutes and it was terrible to drive. I also remember its owner having many problems with it. She thought it was sporty...

I drove a 77 tbird once and it was the largest pile o crap Id ever driven.
You didnt like the c3 vette? I thought they were ok, little uncomfortable but not the worst.
Mercury Capri.
Like... the FWD Convertible ones. Man i hate those cars.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAAHHAHA!!!!!!
Bravenrace, hive mind.
To me, the biggest disappointment along these lines was the Subaru XT. It delivered absolutely nothing. Sporty? Puhleeze!
Vega.
Of course I'd like to own one but...
Is this one of the few times "The Answer" isn't?
the Chrysler TC by Maserati
Lancia Scorpion, it tried, but.
Capri is what immediately came to mind

Yeah but isnt that basically an SLK Benz under the sheetmetal? How bad could it be? Its not the most attractive Ill give you that
I guess this is one time the answer is not miata!
As far as modern actual sports cars go, I would say 370 Z.

Really, everyone ive seen with one loves their infiniti
If you include the Catera and TC, you have to include the Reatta. By the way, I saw one of those LeMans running around a trailer park I was working in, gave me a good laugh!
I liked the catera, but the TC and the reatta were hunks of E36 M3. You can add that cadillac that they came out with right at the end of the 80's I cant remember the name but it was turrible
The Allante is the name my googlefu skills has given me. Although I want one it was horrible. The Cimmarron is probably cadillacs worst mistake ever though

So to me it seems like this thread concept falls apart right where you have to define "sporty".
Having said that, I've owned a couple of the cars in this thread and still plan to own a couple more.
