Thanks. He's at the awkward age of wanting to get into real working on cars but too young to go into most junkyards. I think he really had fun on this trip mainly from wondering the yard and looking at all the different cars.
I think this is two years in a row that I went to the junkyard on New Year's day only to find that they're closed.
While loading up I noticed Marty's tires were not looking good. Harbor Freight was open so Marty got new shoes.
Old.

I get it. Had my first u pull experience today. All you could fit in a wagon for $100. Next time I just won't go in the winter. But what a fun way to spend a morning.
That Saturn wagon looked mint.
this rx7 was stripped. But must have been an electric car conversion at one point.

Was there anything- at all- left? EV conversions typically have some neat smalller bits than just motors and controllers.
In reply to GIRTHQUAKE :
There wasn't much left in there. I should've taken more pictures but didn't. I didn't really know what to look for so I am not sure if there was any electrical bits left.

Ooh, even kinda-off road type tires! Good choice!
Thanks for taking care of Marty.
What's with the white stuff y'all have on the ground in some of your pics? Here are some recent sightings at my "home" yard
y'all into Sentras and body kits?
Miata gave up floor mats and rear shelf carpet and some other bits to my sons friend
Mazda MP3 Protege with tokico blues, red springs, racing hart wheels and racing beat rear sway
crispy SL

That Mercedes looks surprisingly well done.
That Mercedes looks like it's been through a 3rd world coup attempt.
In reply to Pete Gossett (Forum Supporter) :
Coups are not just for the 3rd world anymore. Nothing says 1st world coup like a Mercedes APC.
More shots of the benz
same yard a ways back had this guy too, maybe same, ahem, fabricator? Saw it on Craigslist touting the authentic Humvee windscreen
In reply to DuctTape&Bondo :
I swear I've seen an ad for that when the owner tried to sell it. It would have either been here, Jalopnik, or TTAC. Or maybe the Regular Cars Facebook?
Mad Max hiding in Pic a Part ?
I guess it would be cool for a group of car nuts in a small town to go Mad Max on their cars and take over the town square,
Kind of like the biker gangs taking over the town saloon and the mayors daughter.......
Or an old Top Gear !
In reply to AngryCorvair (Forum Supporter) :
Yea it's Woody's in Columbus. Still in the front so they would probably sell it whole. I was very tempted to ask about it.
