Legendary motorcycle rider, Malcolm Smith, passed away on November 26 due to complications from Parkinson’s disease. He was 83 years old. The ‘On Any Sunday’ star racked up a iconic list of career accomplishments including eight ISDT medals, six Baja 1000 wins (on a bike), four Baja 500 wins, two Mint 400 wins, and more. Beyond racing, his dealership Malcolm Smith Motorsports and the MS Racing (MSR) line of products solidified his legacy for years to come. He was the original do-it-all motorcycle racer.  https://www.cyclenews.com/2024/11/article/godspeed-malcolm-smith-1941-2024/

The classic motorcycle movie On Any Sunday is available on YouTube, if you haven't ever seen it I recommend checking it out, or if you have seen it go watch it again.

Met him at a trade show several years ago. Very interesting and humble man. My wife (a NP) talked to him at length about his Parkinson's. I was 15 when On any Sunday came out, I saw it in the theater. He is one of my Heroes. Godspeed Malcolm.

By the way his autobiography done with Mitch Boehm is a good read.

I watched On Any Sunday with the Oakland Motorcycle club a couple of months ago. It's a great watch and a picture of a simpler time. RIP Malcolm. You're one of the greats.
