Sure is hard watching all these loser teams pick their players. Think I'll take a nap until the good teams start selecting around 24th.

Really disappointed the Ravens didn't draft a QB and move on.

Love that the Lions traded down. Don't love that they used their first pick on a RB, considering they already have Swift and Montgomery, the guy they took would have been available at their next pick (18), and that RBs have such a short shelf life in the modern NFL it's hardly worth taking one in the first round, much less at #12 overall.

I'm very surprised that two RBs have gone this quick but cool with it as that means more quality value players drop down to 24th.

I woulda bet my beer money the Steelers pick CB Christian Gonzalez at 17 but they traded up to 14 and picked OT Broderick Jones. OK, solid O-line now, needed that. Pat's picked Gonzalez at 17. Remainder of picks should be D-line. Hoping for CB Joey Porter Jr. at 32.

Kudos to new GM Omar Khan acquiring free agents, this could be a good season.

Now, if they could just get rid of the offensive coordinator. indecision

I'm good with that pick. Starting guard swing tackle. Meets need and grades.

People still watch?  Even Phil Jackson stopped watching the NBA.

Yeah, one or two of us.  wink

According to recently released data from Nielsen, sports accounted for 94 of the 100 most watched telecasts last year. The NFL alone accounted for a record 82 of the 100 telecasts, up from 75 in 2021.

With a D an issue, Detroit has drafted 3 offensive players and one defensive. Ok.

Lions on opening night vs. the Chiefs is crazy stuff. Sure seems like the national media is buying into the hype. Experience tells me that the team will screw this up. laugh

I'm torn.  I want them to win, but I also know how bad Hope can be as a Lions fan.  I'm super glad they won- that was pretty amazing.

On a different thread- man, some of those calls- KC should have been called for tripping on Hutch, and almost hurt him for it, and then the Lions got it when a KC defender decided to run over a player on the ground- as if he could get out of the way and not obstruct him.  The refs finally had to call the obvious holding when a Lions rusher was tackled from behind.

Not to mention their RT was lining up a yard and a half deep on every play. Even Collinsworth joked about him playing slot receiver.

But anyway, woohoo! That was an awesome win. Any time you go beat the defending champs in their own building is a great day, Kelce or no Kelce. I particularly liked how they ground it out to get that first down at the end to seal it. This O-line is legit. They certainly had some sloppy play and mistakes, and I put some of that down to the fact that Dan didn't play the starters at all in the preseason. But the rookies all showed something, though I expected to see more of Gibbs. LaPorta quietly put together a pretty nice game, and Brian Branch is looking like the steal of the draft right now, they've been raving about him in camp.

One thing I was kind of confused about- on the 4th down play on the drive prior, I wondered why they didn't run the ball.  They have been doing that so well and consistently that getting a few yards like that would have been pretty easy.  On that play, too bad Goff didn't see the massive opening to his left.  He could have had a casual stroll to the first down.

But, yea, that line is real.  Pretty sweet that they can drive it down teams throats so well that Goff gets so much time to throw the ball that well.  The one way that teams can stop it is to not rush to jump- that seemed to be KC's most effective method.

I agree about the players- just to get over the mental hump of beating the defending champ at home is a huge step.

I always thought it was Favre or Rogers that beat the Bears, but nope, the Bears lose to the packers regardless of who's at quarterback.

I don't usually watch a whole lot of football but since the Giants vs Cowboys game was streaming on Peacock I decided to turn it on. Wow that was a rough one for the Giants, but the Cowboys look pretty strong this season.

I watched this season of hard knocks and you must have to be a fan of the team for it to be watchable. It was really boring. I am not a fan of the Raiders or Broncos and I don't hate either one but all the chatter from the broncos new owners and new coach, I was sort of hoping they would be taken down a peg. Raiders were pretty much pointed as the bottom line team by the experts and they beat the hyped Broncos. Talking about over hyped teams the Cowboys throttled the Giants, the giants looked like a XFL team. It is going to be non-stop bragging by national media and fans about the Cowboys to the Superbowl. I still think they can't beat the 49ers or Eagles in the playoffs, but they are defiantly are a good team.

My Browns won, weather helped them, but I think DW is not a top 5 QB probably among the top ten around Dak.
