The passenger side tab of the rear defroster popped off yesterday. I see there are a few repair kits available. Which one sucks the least? The cheapo Permatex kit has pretty poor reviews but the nearly $50 Frost Fighter kit seems better.

Back in the day we'd claim defeat. I'm here to hear the groups wisdom.
I've never had to fix one of those tabs, so this is just a guess based on no experience, but those are typically soldered on from the factory, right? If you're handy with soldering at all, I'd be tempted to try to resolder it, maybe with a low-temperature alloy like ChipQuik: https://www.adafruit.com/product/2660
I just used the Permatex kit and it worked great. Just get the two surfaces really clean and free of the old adhesive first.
