Although I may finally bite the bullet on this book. I have been eyeing it for over a year now, and what may have set me over the edge is that the professor I want to work with is the first mentioned in the acknowledgments. Justifying a book that costs as much as a used netbook is not easy, though.
Our return should be the icing on our savings cake, allowing us to put a down payment on a plot of land where we want to eventually build our for-the-rest-of-our-life house...and the accompanying 2car detatched workshop Ive been lusting for....
Shoot, since I've been expatriated our company makes us use "Price Waterhouse Coopers" and I've been paying the feds ever since.
The silver lining? Our company pays us a bonus every spring when they do well, with that SWMBO has approved a new firearm this year!!!!! (applause)
With MY return, probably writing a check to the IRS. Or buying lunch for myself or something.
With other peoples' returns who owe me money? Miata parts

Depends on the amount. The Buddystang needs a front windshield, front brakes, and the starter is nearing the end of its life. However, I'm planning a trip to the House of the Mouse in August so it may end up as funding for that, or school, or something for firearms related.
Filing for divorce. I wish I was kidding.
Dude, take it from me. Divorce is painful and expensive but worth every sting and every penny. Good luck.

+1. The better your attorney is the better you will feel. BTDT and kept all the E36 M3 I wanted.

Thanks guys. I feel like she will try and screw me over (moreso) since I'm military (she was too for a bit). I'm not overly excited about being single again but that is more time to work my moneypits. I might even get around to swapping that 350 into my S10 Blazer
Hopefully enough to payoff some medi bills and put up a Fence.
Considering that I didnt make much money last year, probably get a candy bar.
If its enough and I dont pressingly need it elsewhere, season autocross subscription.
That said, I got a letter from the IRS the other day, after puckering my sphincter I opened it. Said that I messed up my taxes from 2010. THEY OWE ME $180
Right now, money goes to keeping me solvent for the job hunt.

I will get a fair amount back because of the tuition that I paid last year.
That is why I should be getting decent amount back.
I'll be filling in and filing my return. If I get a refund I might buy race tires.
Sorry. It was starting to bug me, but I'm better now.
Wife and I are filing separately and she has gotten us enough to take a good vacation and put the rest in our depleted savings account. I havent gotten my W-2's yet, so if I dont owe, that money will go towards a beater.

Quoted for oh so much truth!
Actually my divorce cost $250, but its pretty cheap and easy when you have nothing.
I'm definitely getting a refund (this should be the last year of my student expenses carrying over and going towards it) so I am expecting anywhere from $1k to $3k back, especially considering I received about $8k gross in overtime this year (they overtax you out the ass for that).
I am going to put it towards debt. Last year helped me buy a car, but I should have also put that on debt. Live and learn!
I filed mine on Friday night. I'm getting back $2900 (was $4200 until I entered the W-2 from the old job and put me back in the 25% bracket.
I've decided I'm going to have fun with most of it (I've done a really good job saving, paying off debt, contributing to my 401k) so I'm thinking:
Springfield XDM 9mm
Another tattoo on my right lower leg (working on a Japanese sock)
Probably need a few more things for the Miata to get it ready for the track this year...................hey that's an idea, start a separate savings account for track fees/maintenance to make sure I don't miss an event!
Same place the rest of my money seems to always be going - tires.

Totally not sure. Between me changing jobs, the wife’s business being up and down all year, and a new baby, I have no idea if we had enough deducted to cover us. I hope we did.
Hoping for a refund and a decent bonus in the spring- but even if we get all that, it’ll be boring stuff like paying off debt, fixing a few things around the house, maybe a little work on the vehicles. Wife’s car will need 4 tires at some point.

Much like HiTempGuy I worked lots of OT this past year. I glanced at my final check from 2011 and holy E36 M3, 10k+ in overtime alone!
12 hour days suck but they sure do fatten the wallet!
Down payment on my new old house if I can find one again. Missed the one with the four car garage in the hood I want.

I was military when I got divorced from first wife. I was also overseas at that time. Soldiers & Sailors Relief Act saved me $$. She filed and tried to get things I didn't even have, like more a month in alimony that I made in a month. I extended twice overseas and explained to her that I could spend my career overseas and retire overseas and never touch foot in the states again while only paying her BAQ till our son was 18 (he was 3 at the time). She backed down to being reasonable at that time. Still cost some but was manageable and extremely worth it.
