Already had to go remove 2 from the driveway so my much better half can get in to the garage. Just heard a huge crack...........my neighbor is not going to be happy when he sees what one of his tree limbs just did to his fence.

One fell as my wife was pulling into our driveway a couple days ago. Had she been 30 seconds quicker it would have taken out the truck with her and my daughter in it.
My parents just had a new roof put on their house, and literally the night after the roofing crew had left, they had a pretty stout oak branch fall and miss the roof by about two feet.
I'm not in the middle of the country, but we got an early snow storm. 4 inches and a lot of branches came down. Most of the leaves are still green and just starting to turn so they catch a lot of snow.
We got 6" of fairly heavy snow with the leaves on the trees, so all the wussy trees are falling. A good chunk of the city was without power last night and the constant power surges as various substations tried to come online and failed took out a bunch of networking equipment as well - we were offline until about noon today. That's a problem when you're trying to work from home. So we went for a swim.
One of the best Pete moments evar was walking through the woods with PeteGF. Stopped and told her to look a certain direction, because I wanted to snag a kiss on her neck. At the precise moment she looked, half of a tree split off and fell over, dead center in her field of vision.
Not in the middle of the country (California) and not worried about limbs falling (desert climate = few problematic trees) but holy cow, 40 mph sustained winds and only 15% humidity.
If it was hot (currently only mid 70's) we'd have the trifecta of extreeeeeeme fire danger right now.
Fire of 2018:
You know the E36 M3 is getting real when your wife can smell the lake water the fire helicopter has dropped on you.
Atlanta chiming in. We've had a bumper crop of fire pit fuel this year. Got a big sweetgum limb big around as my thigh and 20' long still waiting to be chopped up. Good for the fire pit, bad for the roof.
A few weeks ago we had some STRONG winds come through. Some big limbs came down in the woods behind my detached garage office. After one came down hard I beat a retreat from the detached garage back into the house. I've never seen the tree bend around so much.
In reply to slefain :
Also in Atlanta. I'm a roofer and it's been a crazy year for storms here north of town. Tomorrow looks like another one.
Not even all of it. Waiting for a crew to come clear the driveway. Finally got power again last night.

You did that on purpose, right? I would insist on it!
