So, like Happy Andy, the copart article messed with my head. I went on the site to search for Wranglers and Mitas. What did I discover? That there is a location 20 minutes from my house.
I have a feeling I'm going to be in trouble.

I picked up and paid for a wrecked Moto Guzzi for my brother and it was almost $400.
Uh oh. I read that article, thought "I might be in trouble," and then fortunately forgot about it until I saw this thread.
On the bright side, still no internet at home which makes it easier to resist impulse weekend auction searches.
hi..my name is Al..and I've been Copart free for 365 days...fees hurt a little IIRC a 300$ purchase will have about 200$ in fees.. mind you its the same up to 1K so if the car was 999 it doesn't seem as bad as the low buck purchases..
Yeah, their fee structure seems a little rough. However, if you can get stuff cheap enough, it might not matter.

I believe that it's the same way here, at least that's the impression I got when I tried bidding on something a few years back. :(

The FEES were almost $400.
dang it all..now I've spent the last four hours putting all kinds of vehicles in my watch list...I'm high bidder on one....shoot...I was doing so good for such a long time...
I picked up a running Lancia Beta for $360 (before fees, was $768 after them) off Copart 5 or years ago. Dangerous fun site.

Damn. I don't see any damage at all on that. It looks terrific!
I don't kinda want it, I definitely do! But I already have too many projects on my plate as it is, and it's a bit too far away.

too bad the sale ended, I'm reasonably close and would have stored it for you for free just so i could sit in the rumble seats everyday and make motor noises
In reply to glueguy: That's a good question. I had a bunch of cars on my watch list, and they all disappeared when the auctions ended. Clearly it doesn't work the same as ebay. I hope that there is some way to track the prices without actually bidding.
