Ice Racing

It's been cold in the Great Northeast and the lakes are freezing. It will soon be time to go racing.

I hear reports you guys have 6 inches already, that's pretty good. We don't have quite that much on the bay yet.

I called my Stepdad back home and he mentioned that he had already been ice fishing....

Hoping for some northern Ohio/Michigan action in a few months.

Kids are playing hockey on the pond here already

Ice shanties are on the lakes in the Flint MI area

That 6" was a week ago, more now I'm sure. The ice fisher men are out, a couple of shanties.

I wish I had the opportunity to do some ice racing in Virginia, but we've got a mild enough climate and few enough lakes that ice racing just plain ain't in the cards

i pulled my brother's 6X8 fish house out onto the lake on saturday with my 3/4 ton GMC. i drilled a hole while he was banking up the snow around it and there was 14" of solid ice. normally there's about 8"-10" this time of year but it's been extra cold.

Skating on our lake here in nw NJ.

Not real thick though.....I wouldn't go out there quite yet.
