Rim on a Prius:
Those actually look pretty good on the Prius. I was expecting to see it jacked up about 2ft off the ground with 24's on it.
It might be a waste if you are replacing 4 good wheels, but OEM wheels are WAY overpriced. With the way these things are driven, I can see that thing having had 4 bent wheels and 3 corded tires.
I seriously don't get why it's so shocking that some Priuses could be owned by... car people.
A good friend of mine has one and surprise! It has no PETA, global warming, anti-fur, or any other stickers on it anywhere. He also used to autocross with me back a few years ago. Hate all you want, he likes it because he thinks the technology is cool.

Big +1! There's a new one here in town that's black w/dark tint, black aftermarket wheels. Never thought I'd say this about a prius, but it looks berkeleying tough.

Grabbed the photo off of the web, so I don't know. I think the car was a Toyota factory project and IIRC, I grabbed the pic from this board.
Give it a few years, and it won't be so odd to see them hacked up and hot rodded out. Someone will think of a way to do it, and everyone else will just think "Why didn't I think of that?" If you look at history, it's inevitable.
I have a friend who has one. He's a libertarian type without any save-the-world tendencies. He drives a lot, and bought it because it cut down on the fuel he was using.
BTW, they look good with green flames
(No, not my friend's car.)
don;t get me wrong. I think they are a neat car.. but everyone I know who has one owns it because it is a fuel efficent toyota appliance.
I would have done the same. Put my snows on the fatory rims and get something I like for the rest of the year.
This isn't the first modified Prius I've seen up at Penn State. The other one was much more tasteful though, silver with tint and black trim.
Kevin and Bryan lowered one, added a sway bar, and a bunch of body trim parts. I was mainly impressed that Toyota has the springs available. Kudos to Toyota.......the show still sucks.
