I don't want to bitch about the heat, so I need to see something cold.

Then apparently I'm a huge Bob Costas because I set the A/C to 70 during the day and 66 at night.
I mean, why even have A/C if I can't use it to be berkeleying comfortable in my own berkeleying home?
Oh and I work from home, my office is on the second floor facing the setting sun, so it can get stupidly warm in our bedroom and my office in comparison to the rest of the house, its an annoying trait of this house to say the least.
In reply to Stefan (Not Bruce):
I'm right there with you - 71 by day, frosty 65 at night and then when the temp goes below that I fling open the windows.
We are in the broken record weather forecasts. High of 98-102 low of 75-77. We have only had 16 days over 100 so it's not too bad this year. It looks like we will keep that number under 40 this year. Such is summer in central Texas. I keep the house at 74 at night and 76 during the day. I've gotten use to the heat by just being out in it every day.
I have a pregnant wife. You damn right the A/C is on constantly. 67°F is still too warm for her at night but I don't feel like making our 20 month old wear a stocking cap to bed.
Temperature is a daily debate between my wife and I. She is a native northern girl and I'm originally from TN/VA. Above 75 is hot for her and time for AC. For me 80 is cozy. I'm one bad winter away from moving to FL with or without her.
I'm so chuffed with my wife my being pregnant, she's been running hot pretty much all the time so the AC has been run much more aggressively for the past 8 months. My wallet however, does not thank me.

But at what temp do you put on a jacket and she laughs and calls you a wuss?

We break at the same point on that.
Born and raised in the tundra. Live on the surface of the sun now. Ac is set at 72. Any lower and everyone in the house save me would turn blue. It makes no goddamn sense.
Everyone here in pennsyltucky thinks I'm insane because I admit to missing the 95+ days in Kalifornia. What they don't seem to be able to understand is that 100F with 0 humidity really isn't bad at all, frankly I think it feels nicer than current east coast temps. it's the 85F and 200% humidity that's a berking killer here. Air so thick you can cut it with a chop saw. People can't seperate heat from humidity and it annoys the hell out of me.
When the baby is here, i concede and run the AC at night, but most of the time the noise doesn't make up for the temp change to me. And since I've never once owned a vehicle with working AC, I don't miss it.
