wow! Glad you made it there and home in one piece! Congrats on the new purchase!
Cool! My '68 Spitfire had the same steering wheel. 'Globe' hubcaps, those are unusual. Does it have flat or domed glass in the instruments (hard to tell from the pics)?
In reply to Jensenman:
the speedometer and tach are flat - the other instruments are domed. It's been in the same family since 1974, but off the road for a long time (dunlop bias tires - surprised they are still holding air and stunningly skinny). Engine turns by hand, has a few rust spots, but pretty solid - good floors, trunk, frame and battery box. Brake master is seized and the upholstery is toast. Looks like it picked up a few bruises over the years. I probably just gut the rotten stuff. store it until spring and see what surprises await.
I live south of you near Lockport, IL. I know the weather was lousy and I65 is always a challenge. How far did you have to go?
Pardon my ignorance but what exactly is that? My wife loves it by the way, so good fine!

Triumph TR4 -- and for a challenge price, too, if I recall correctly.
No pics of the rear. Is that an IRS 4A or a plain jane 4? Great find by the way and glad you got back in one piece in the bad weather.

That would be screamingly fast with a Honda S2K engine in it. ;)
Very nice find. I always loved the TR4/TR250 shape. (I'm a sucker for tail fins, no matter what the size.)

Picked in up in Louisville, KY. It's a 1963 - so TR4 - the 4a came out around 1965. Most of the vintage guys in the midwest go for the solid axle cars.
