I am thankful for my wonderful wife, spoiled dog, fantastic friends, and exasperating but loving family. And for all the guys at grm who work so hard to put out quality material.
This thread should be buzzing today btw

Naah... no one should have been surfing the internet!
I'm thankful for my mother:
Fired up the racecar today. Fresh rebuild and a new Electromotive ignition installed by me. Electromotive's manual doesn't cover rotaries very well, so I had to figure a bunch of stuff out as far as the wiring. Looks like I did it all right!! WooHoo!
I've always been intrigued by neti pots. I think that it sounds like a good way to drown. Does it feel like when you get water up your nose?

Its way less uncomfortable than I imagined it would be. The weird feeling of water up your nose is there but its not strong. You can barely feel anything and if you get your head angle right you can breathe through your mouth while you do it.
Worst part is getting all the excess solution out afterwards imo
I'm extremely thankful for the fact that I am now in a position in life where my revenue coming in regularly exceeds my expenses. I looked at the bank account today and was shocked to put it mildly, and I still have a lot of overtime that needs to be paid out coming.
This is the first Christmas EVER where I am debt free (minus some student loans I am finishing up) with money in the bank since I was 18 (now 25). Financial freedom feels awesome :D This is even after having just competed at my first rally in a year which was over 1000kms tow one way!
After weeks and weeks of not hearing back from job apps I got three offers in two days. Background check stuff is out right now for a position at a hyundai dealer:)
now I gotta figure out what to say to theguy at infiniti (was my first choice originally but it didnt seem like it was gonna work out) when I call him back tomorrow.
Took what I believe to be the first personal/sick day of my adult working career today, and boy did I need it. Lots of rest amd recuperation today coupled with gran turismo 6 while the wife is working:)
I think the new motorcycle I just bought should fire up once I put gas in it. I fixed the alleged issue and now its time to CHOP. Im looking forward to it.
Ill make a thread once I have more than a potato for a camera

I too am thankful for these; they work. A little odd but the end results are worth the wierdness of it all.
Lol @ the sales department trying to sell stuff before it goes through the shop...
needs a high mount brake light assy, inner tie rod and alignment just to pass ncsi, along with the 14 hours of other stuff I'm recommending.
Maybe theyll learn one day.
Either way I'm getting 3hrs out of them for this:)

those are things that have NEVER been checked on any of my cars since NC SI has been in existence
In reply to wbjones:
Lol. Well someones missing out on a couple hours there. Cant have play in the steering system or it fails nc safety inspection. Have to do an alignment when you do tie rods:)
I got em for a little bit of money at least.
the shops/garages that do my inspections, don't have alignment machines … +I've never had an inspection where they lifted the car off the ground ..(I think the reg. call for that doesn't it ?) never had them wiggle the steering wheel, or shake the individual wheels
I've been driving since 1965, (before inspections started in NC) and I've never even had them check to see if I had any shoes or pads … just (like an a-x tech insp.) check to see if there's a firm pedal … never even bounced the car to see if there were actually any shocks in place … much less shocks that might be working …
like I've griped many times … state insp. is nothing more than a money grab
In reply to wbjones:
When I get mine done by friends they dont lift em but you would think every shop would be thorough with a customer car considering it involves money theyre missing out on
like I said … I've been getting one or more inspections since they started in NC … and while I've been told that they are supposed to put them in the air … I've never had it done to my car, and I've never seen it done … I've never even heard of it being done .. and you're right … the shops are losing out on potential income
In reply to wbjones:
Thats crazy but I believe ya. I guess people are too lazy to bother lol.
Theyd definitely be screwed if they missed something on a trap car setup by the nc dot though lol

a money grab? totally unknown in Illinois where 2 of our governors were recently in prison.
back in the day all Illinois pickup trucks (personal/small) had to be safety inspected every year.....with a beater truck a guy told my buddy to leave a $20 bill on the seat when he gets out of his cab......(he chickened out)

even crazier … I've had them say "anything wrong with the car ? " .. when I answer NO, they then say … ok, reg. card please, and what's the milage …
disclaimer: they knew me well, and it was my street legal "racecar" … and they no longer do inspections LOL
In reply to wbjones:
Lol wow. If they have an understanding with you about the car then it makes a little more sense. Some of these cars are super sketchy lol
Just found out that if I buy a new vehicle from either the ford store or the hyundai store, the owner/gm will pay half the car payment for as long as I work there. So I can now trade in the kia for the ingot silver focus st with black leather recaros of my dreams and pay half of what I'm currently paying for the kia.
Going to sleep on it for a month or two and set money aside while we get more established but I'm thinking this is really going to happen
Thank you officer (I forget your name) for not giving me a ticket, I deserved it, I was speeding. Though your claiming I made an "improper lane change" while merging onto the interstate is B.S. I'm very glad I kept my mouth shut, because I probably wouldn't have gotten off with a verbal warning.
good for you …
question, did you use your turn signal, and did you cross 2 lanes in one movement ?
failure to use the turn signal as you merged would constitute "improper lane change" as would going from the merge lane to the outside (left) lane in one movement, regardless of signal use
during a drivers test, you will get failed for that type of movement (at least here in NC)
