A customer called me today and stated we shorted them a part a week ago. Even though their employee signed for the part at the time of the delivery.

Many years ago I ordered a lowering kit for a truck. It arrived with half the pieces missing. I called and they said, that's not possible, it ships as a kit, and they refused to send me the parts. I had an idea, looked at the paperwork which showed the shipping weight.
Hey parts people, how much does this kit weigh, because the shipping weight is the same as the kit you sent short of the missing parts. I got my parts.
Insurance company got back to me, $71 a year to insure the bike.
Seems the short term disability company messed up my coverage for a little bit and they got it resolved. However, I didn't get paid yesterday.
Let the HR lady know and waiting to hear back.
I've been checking with Honda dealers in Illinois and Iowa and they are putting $2500 on Civic Si's and $5000 on the Type R's.
If one more guy mentions the rarity of the Si to me........
Expense reports are so berkeleying tedious. I swear I can eat dinner faster than I can properly fill out the expense report for it.
I've been waiting for days for a delivery... turns out the service that is bringing it from the freight terminal has been trying to reach me since Monday, but the vendor gave them the wrong phone number. Luckily I caught an email from the vendor (that looked like a scam) in my junk email folder last night and called the freight shipper. Now waiting for a call back from the delivery company. I'd have driven to the freight terminal myself if I'd known it was going to be this much trouble!
This is why I don't recommend or sell your product.
You sold it. You installed it. I've been keeping it alive since 2009.
Now you want me to tell a hospital that the expected lifespan of the $70k revolving door at their main entrance is only 10-15 years?
Seriously?
I just love being the bearer of bad news.
Thanks shiny happy person.

I had a bed liner out of one of my Fords when I put the Bedslide and tonneau on it. Same problem. Ended up in the same place.
It's kind of sad. You know there is a decent human being that would love to have it but connecting with them is damn near impossible because of the background noise.
Exactly. I didn't have a use for it anymore but I was sure someone could have used a great condition bedliner for super cheap/free.
But the berkeleying idiots ruined it for that someone.
Reason #126,674 why I hate people...

Yeah, but was banana in the title?
My week long Spring Break to Florida is over. I got 7 days of seeing the sun. The weather was absolutely perfect. But it's over and I'm back "up north" with 100's of emails waiting. At least it's Friday, right?
Two days. Two revolving doors. That, in a town which only has 7-8 of them.
One is 16 years old, and the manufacturer no longer supports it. No drawings or electrical diagrams are available because the manufacturer has pitched them. That means we have to "figure it out." The manufacturer, in their infinite wisdom, used a light tan wire for everything low voltage and signal. That takes an already difficult job and makes it take even longer. After 9 hours, it appears to be a shorter nose sensor.
The other is 36 years old. Parts are mostly still available however, it hasn't met safety standards in 20 years, and I won't touch it without bringing it up to standards. Naturally, they have now run it into the ground with zero maintenance, and it either needs a major and expensive overhaul to repair the problem and add 10 additional safety sensors, or it needs to be replaced. That is going to take an enormous amount of time.
I really don't like revolvers. They are a maintenance nightmare. Worse, they are a lawsuit looking for some little old lady to run over and break a hip.
But, nobody else will work on them either, so...$$$$$
Had a password leak into a group chat today because of a damaged laptop flex cable.
Laptop screen was blacked out and I'd need to spend a minute fiddling with the hinge angle to get the screen to work again, I didn't have time to fiddle and needed to put the laptop in sleep mode and close it quickly, I felt certain it would be on a lock screen so I typed in the unlock password, hit enter, and hit the sleep hotkey. Laptop went to sleep. Seemed good right? Well it wasn't on a lock screen, it was unlocked, a couple hours later my password is in the last group chat I had open.
Luckily it was a low-level password that would only work on a couple of specific local logins but still pretty pissed.
In other news.
I received a letter from the IRS today.
They have accepted my S Corp election that was filed in 2021. I will be treated as an S Corp starting January 1st 2022.
The letter was dated 4/14/2025. Only 3 years later.
Way to stay on the ball, guys! Good job!
Go ahead, hold my last check ransom for another week while you "verify all equipment was turned in", dick wipe. While you're at that go ahead and try to gaslight me into thinking this is my fault for "not giving you ample notice". I didn't give you notice so you couldn't fire me two days into my "last two weeks". Eat a dick, you're a E36 M3ty accountant that shouldn't be anywhere near a management position or in manufacturing.
Instance companies are a pain in the ass, and have policies that are one size fits all.
Im looking to reduce insurance cost and moving some vehicles away from Flo. Unfortunately the options are limited since one of the vehicles is a 2021 Sportage.
Apparently the insurance companies lump it in with the forte and other models that were easy to steal, even though it had push button start so it's not susceptible to the methods used.
Even though its push button start, they won't provide coverage for comprehensive or collision.
The values is still high and tariffs haven't started bumping up Kia prices, so I'm considering trading it in on a Sportage hybrid, just to get away from the insurance issue with this one. Im concerned about the possibility that in the future I may not be able to find anyone to cover it for more than liability at a reasonable rate.

I've done something very similar! I went to use my computer and I thought it was locked since the monitors had blanked. So I just hit enter then typed my password and hit enter again. When my monitors had warmed up, I noticed that in fact the browser tab that had Google's Messenger for Web was the one with focus and I had just sent a professional contact my somewhat unprofessional password. Whoops.
USPS better deliver my parts tomorrow. "Shipped" Wednesday from within the state. Usually from FCP EuroI'll see them the next day. Really want to get the Avant back together. Most frustrating progress actually showed them leaving Springfield MA this morning. Usually meaning they arrive at my post office by 9am for delivery. But no such luck.
I'm not grumpy the price is 14.99. I'm grumpy because the price on the shelf says 6.99. And I'm really grumpy you said 'oh well I guess it's wrong". And then when I get home I see you didn't enter my discount card... so found it at another store for 10.99, so this is getting returned.

Ah yes, $hutyourberkeleyingFac3uncl3berkeleyer. That's the combination to my luggage.
For the second time, some random lawn care service stuck one of their advertising signs in my front yard. I called the number on the sign and chewed them out, and they apologized, but apparently they just send someone out with a bunch of signs and tell them to plant them anywhere.
In reply to stuart in mn :
If it happens again, don't call. Just take the sign and find the worst lawn/property you can find and stick it there.

Holding your last check is not legal in most States. It must be "made available" on the regular pay day. They can make you come to the office and pick it up vs mail/direct deposit, and request you bring all equipment then, but they can not hold it past the regularly scheduled day. It's an easy case to win if you complain to the labor board. They will have to pay you the check, plus damages.
You'll need to log in to post.
