Not sure I get this one, unless hamster in Chinese is the same word as political dissident.

To prevent the spread of Omicron the Chinese government killed 2000ish hamsters in Hong Kong. Hense it being an overkill reaction.
Just so long as Richard Hammond does not have to worry about going back to Hong Kong.
