Funny.
Watching him race at Road Atlanta and seeing him in the pits and in the hotel (we stayed at the same place) I can't help but love the guy. He is the real deal, very talented in the car and not a Hollywood prick like you might expect.
Agree with you 110% Pinchvalve.
He is good with the fans and spends as much time as he could with them both of the times I've seen him in person. How he didn't get writers cramp from all of the autographs that him and Patrick Long sign in a day is amazing.

Sounds a bit like Ken Block. He made money apparently selling T-shirts, flat brimmed hats and some shoes and now gets to live his dream. Sounds like Patrick Dempsey makes some movies and/or tv shows so he can afford to run his race team. Both are noted for taking time to meet/great their fans and really come across as nice people who both realize that they are living the dream and are not taking it for granted.
I'm kind of disappointed they didn't take it further. What about the bathroom? Or the bedroom under...less ideal circumstances?
Patrick Long is super-nice to talk to. I've only said "hello" to Dempsey, so can't comment. I was at their pits (as well as SRT and Corvette) at Le Mans 2 years ago, they've definitely moved it upscale since then!
I've had a chance to meet and hang-out with Patrick Dempsey a few times and he's always been extremely nice. He's one of the good guys in our sport. With his talent, looks and the money he and his wife spend on charity----he does kind of make the rest of us look like chumps though! Well --- he at least makes me look like a chump!
From what little interaction I have has with both of them they seem very nice. Patrick Long took the time to have a picture taken with my two boys a couple of years ago at the last Tran Am race at Mid Ohio. At Sebring in 2013 the boys and I got in Patrick Dempsey's autograph line at the tail end of the allotted time. When we got up to him he took a good 5 minutes to talk to my kids and then had someone go into the transporter, get two hats, signed them both and gave them to the boys.

So soon he'll be single. Worse...or better?
