Coins?  Since I almost never use cash I almost never have coins.

I would agree with that. Most of my coin stash was assembled well over 10 years ago.

The only thing I use cash for is hookers and blow and they always charge a whole dollar amount.

I was thinking this was about Bitcoin when I read the headline.  Was a little disappointed.

I have a bunch of these on various piers up and down the California coast:

Although the machines clearly state “Quarters Only”, over the course of a year, I get $90 to $110 dollars’ worth of pennies, nickels, and dimes which correlates nearly perfectly with how much I spend on paint, sand paper, caution tape, grease, etc. to give them an annual overhaul with.

I think the process is really elegant…let the change accumulate for a year…dump it all into a CoinStar machine and get a zero fee HomeLowe’s gift card…buy all the consumables I need…rinse and repeat year over year.

I have a rule that if change hits my pocket, it goes in my bucket! Since I deliver pizza 3 days a week it adds up quickly. Just cashed in $533.31 that was from the first of May to the first of December. I plan it for Christmas gifts but this year I was good on gifts so I bought a 2001 Focus with it! Already about 2 inches in the bucket for the Pate (Texas Motor Speedway) swap meet in April!

I try to use up change as I get it.  I rarely have more than $1.00 worth of it in my pocket.  Saving it up in a jar to cash in later just seems like a lot of extra work.
