Big news. Snoop Dogg has purchased Death Row Records: https://www.npr.org/2022/02/09/1079761477/snoop-dogg-now-owns-death-row-records
I think the music industry today is doing really poorly. It's easy to blame artists, but I think the real issue is record labels and lack of good producers. I commented to some friends a few weeks back how what I hope we see is some experienced artists who have been through the ringer of the industry step up to find and lead upcoming talent much the way Dr. Dre did back in the 90's.
Fingers crossed that Snoop can bring that or hire producers and A&R folks who will.
I like this.
I'm disappointed Hasbro never did anything cool with the property.
What Snoop needs to do is to get his friend Martha Stewart involved--someone with good business sense and a legitimate gangsta rep.
Tupac is definitely coming out of hiding as a surprise guest during the Superbowl halftime show, and Martha Stewart is going to be another surprise guest with a wardrobe malfunction while reenacti the video to "Let me ride"

I hope you are partially right, I am not much for conspiracy theories but I think that Tupac was the best of all time so him coming back would be awesome. I love the era of wrap when snoop came out, that late 80's early 90's was the golden age of rap for me (that just shows my age!). Hopefully no Martha Stewart wardrobe issues, but Let Me Ride remix would be great.
I think it's funny that NPR has a Snoop story
I'm glad to see Death Row out of private equity and in the hands of someone who cares.
