I am surrounded by it everyday. I deal with it at work, but when it's the people I know, I've had enough.

Today, it's our friend that runs our foster group.

She decided to take her kids to the Shedd Aquarium. For those who don't know, the Shedd is right next to Soldier Field where the Chicago Bears play. Today there is a game.

She is clogging up FaceBook with status messages about how she hates football and the Bears because she had to take two bus transfers and sit in delayed traffic etc. Ok, I understand your frustration.

Then she goes as far as going into my status message about the game and bitching about how she hates the Bears and parking for the Shedd (which is shared with Soldier Field) is $50 and has made her day miserable.

Ok, now you've made yourself look like the fool. You apparently didn't check anything ahead of time. You didn't make sure a football game wasn't playing or any other event for that matter was happening ahead of time. It's the city and E36 M3 is happening all the time. The Field Museum, the Shedd, and the Adler Planetarium all share the same campus with Soldier Field, hence they all share the same parking.

Stop blaming the damn sport and team for your blatant lack of planning.

I also can't say any of this to her because she runs our foster group and we need to be on good terms with her.

:End Rant:

Shes actually one of the people That I'm going block their messages or just remove all together.

Whenever she asked an automotive question, so many of her "friends" reply with the stupidest E36 M3. I'm going to reply with something to help and she's got 20 replies of idiots.

Oh this is awesome too, she takes pictures of other cars while driving down the highway. Then posts about whatever she found ridiculous. Also takes pictures of herself, her kids, and the dogs with her while she drives, and posts them on facebook.

If she gets into a bad car accident I won't be surprised.

I cant stand it when people complain in every post on fb. My M.I.L. is the biggest offender that I know. If it wouldn't cause WW3, I would just delete her.

Tanning solution, some kind of press and a 3 ring binder?

She should have taken the kids to the Bears game and then to a HPDE... that'll do the kids more good than a shed

Or, send ALL of us her e-mail address... Maybe after awhile, she'll get the point.

Crap like this is why I've never bothered to join FB.

I made a few mistakes like the one this woman made YEARS ago, when I made the mistake of thinking that I could go "anywhere" on a weekend when the local colleges had games. Then, as was suggested, I started to plan ahead. If this woman had been smart, and checked ahead, she probably would have found out she could get to the Shedd for LESS money using public transit from a "remote" point...then she would have avoided traffic and the ridiculous parking fee.

Reminds me of a weekend trip to Johnson City, TN. We were going to stay in Boone and do some sightseeing. Didn't realize it was the Appalachian State homecoming weekend and we had not made hotel reservations. Even though FB didn't exist then, even if it had I would not have complained. It was no one's fault but mine since I didn't do my due diligence.

[rant]Half of what's wrong with this planet now is people have no patience and also just can't stand the possibility that someone else's plans or ?? might inconvenience them. Everybody yells 'I wanna be first!' and then they pitch a fit when they aren't. It goes back to that whole 'everybody gets a trophy' thing; kids don't learn that not everyone will be in first place every time. Somebody's gonna be second, third, fourth... [/rant]

I think another part of the problem today is that no one excepts responsibility for their actions. It's always somebody else's fault.

That's exactly what happened with our friend today. Even after other people told her after the fact that she should have planned ahead, she didn't say "Yeah my bad" or anything, she just made a snide comment that: "Its sweet cosmic justice that the Bears lost. Bwahahaha"

I don't think she did both, by the procession of status messages, she parked elsewhere after she saw the $50 price and took the bus back to the aquarium.

Once getting a ride back to college in AZ from MN, we had a side trip through Mt. Rushmore and the badlands on the way down the Rockies. While getting my teeth cleaned, I learned from my Dentist (who was attending) that our trip, without hotel reservations, was smack dab in the middle of Bike Week. The closest place we found to sleep was a dorm they had opened up to people in Nebraska 6 hours away.

It happens to the best of us.
