This is actually pretty cool.

A group wants to document as many old dark rides as possible in 360-degree video. I love old dark rides. I grew up riding the Monster Plantation at Six Flags of Georgia, but I also loved the traveling rides that came through with the carnivals.
A dark ride is stuff like this:

"Humans in the marsh! Humans in the marsh!"
Don't go in there! I loved Monster Plantation. I'll have to watch the video when I get home. Seems cool.
Kings Island (SW Ohio) had Phantom Theater...I loved it, though I also really liked the Smurfs ride that it replaced in the early 90s. I can remember riding the Smurfs ride in the early 80s, before I was in school.

I remember phantom theater.

This is pretty cool, especially as I'm wondering how many of those rides will still be around in 20 years. Seems a lot of old-timey amusement park stuff is slowly withering away, and that would be a shame. These types of rides are (cheesy, schlocky) little works of art in their own way.

Yup. Too many of them burn down unfortunately. The stuff they were built from way back then can be VERY flammable. Add to that old wiring and hot theater lights.
Here's an AWESOME article about dark ride history: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/articles/why-dark-rides-scare-the-pants-off-us/
This site is stuck in 1998 but it has some great stuff as well: http://www.laffinthedark.com/contents.htm
