I'm curious if anyone talks E36 M3 on us on other forums.

I suppose it would be easier and less demeaning to just get everyone drunk at the Challenge and watch the E36 M3-talking come out.

Once on Jeepforum I suggested that someone search Megasquirt and they thought I was trying to lure them to a porn site. MS is so common around here that I thought everybody knew what it was.

I haven't seen much, but it's only been good stuff. GRM got mentioned on some "best automotive forums" list a few years back.

While I'm not much on other forums I've never heard of anyone talking E36 M3 on GRM. I have heard their members refer others to GRM though.

I've seen some hate on the wheel weight article on various forums. Aside from that, pretty much everything anyone says about GRM is positive.

Sweet

How about a thread w/ monthly updates "say what?" style but without naming the poster?

I once copy/pasted a joke from here onto an other forum … the joke contained the word E36 M3 or maybe berkeley …

it of course copied and pasted as E36 M3/berkeley … someone LOL'ed at me and commented that the joke must have come from GRM

"Good solid driver. Factory paint for sure.Bought it off of a grassrootsmotorsports member... was not so much as advertised. But, I've fixed a lot of the issues. LOTS. Lots of new parts. Replaced e-brake cables, front brake calipers, rebuilt rears, new pads all around, all fluids changed, rear axle seals replaced, speedo sensor replaced, odo gear replaced (but now the speedo or odo doesn't work again, I forget which) - but it's not a crumbled gear anymore. Power steering pump & rack & lines replaced. No A/C (disabled. not removed). Replaced the exhaust system and cat with porsche factory - it needed it. Works great now. All parts are porsche factory. Did a bunch of switch replacements and so on - lots of things done to the car. Frankly, I can't remember them all.Has three issues beyond that that I know of ; 1. Some kind of wiring issue with ignition - probably a chafed wire. Once you find it, it's a short fix. The car ALWAYS starts and runs perfectly. Maybe it "self resolved". I never bet on it. Two:When you do the timing and balance belts (have the parts) - replace the cover that has the ear that mounts the p/s pump - I have the replacement already. Third issue, one tail light (brake) does not work. Probably something silly. I also replaced the seats with a power driver and passenger leather (with some cracking, but used the sealant kit available on ebay from Germany. Looks pretty good - the seats are a marked improvement over the stock. The car is fun to be in. Install the brand new stereo I'll hand you (wiring done, literally plug it in) - the old one failed and I got it replaced under warranty. The car has a salvage title, hence why I'm not asking much. The salvage title is NOT for crash, it is for water. The car was "flooded" in NJ (not coastal, was clearly fresh water) in 1992. I saw the water line, the car must have been on a steep ramp or something - the water was never near the engine or dash."

NASIOC has a GRM subforum because they bought out Subiesport Magazine. The last post in that forum was from July, and that was on a former Subiesport thread, so they aren't saying much over there about GRM. The guys actually modding their cars over there seem to be more focused on the whole Stance thing than what we do over here.

There IS a thread in their vaunted Off Topic forum that I partake in regularly:

Vintage/Old School Cheap Sporty Car Appreciation * $9,999.99 limit*

If you check that out, you will see the numerous attempts to get those guys to just come over here, since GRM is a Vintage/Old School Cheap Sporty Car Appreciation FORUM.

Not all of NASIOC is the stupid Stance clowns, there are some legit motorsports folks in there. You just need to know which subforums to visit.
