Discovered this tool on the technology connections YouTube channel.

This tool has several advantages over other can openers. Because it works by opening the crimp instead of cutting the lid, there are no sharp edges. The tool never touches the food, so cleaning it is easy.

Because it never penetrates the can, the contents of the can are still sterile after opening. It's also the easiest to operate of any of openers I've ever used, And because it doesn't cut into the can, I suspect that it won't wear out.

The video is long, but these are always interesting. If you want to skip watching it, I'll add a link to the tool at the bottom.

I had some difficulty finding a link to the version that he reviewed, which is the same one that I have.
This redesigned version uses the same process.

It's an Oxo brand, but I couldn't find it on their website.

Target shows them in stock

I bought a regular oxo can opener nearly 30 years ago and it still works great. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this one at $22. It's probably a lifetime tool.

I've had a non-OXO branded one, but same functionality, for 6 years or so.  It really is the best there is.

I have been using one in the same style for a few years. It does take some getting used to if you're used to using a crimp-style, but once you get it you GET it. It's definitely worth the buy.
