We can agree that Ba-Tampte makes the best mustard, right?
Well, our local Publix stopped carrying it a while ago. I found some while visiting my parents, but that’s like 5+ hours away and now the jar is empty.
Looks like a Publix 33 miles away from us has it in stock.
That’s not too far to drive for the perfect condiment, right?
Too far and I love mustard.
Sounds perfectly reasonable

While stationed in DC, my buddy and I wanted to get fire works for the 4th.
"You split gas and I'll drive" said I. "North Carolina has them, and that's like two hours one way." Says I
"Awesome, let's do this." Says he.
As we drive into NC from the VA line I say "huh. That's weird. South Of The Border is supposed to be right here. Let's keep driving for a bit."
And that's how my buddy and I did a 12+hr road trip for fireworks.
I say load up a friend and go for it.

You do know that if Publix still carries it you can get your local store to order it for you right?

Really? Although that sounds less adventurous.
It use to be 18 years to buy beer in Wisconsin. On my last day of class at the University of Illinois Chicago campus I drove an hour each way to Kenosha, Wisconsin to buy a 12 pack of beer.

Go talk to the friendly people in customer service. I remember I once had them up their store order for an item that I bought a lot of.
In reply to Stampie :
They are friendly, and thanks for the tip. Will ask next time I’m there.

Tell them I sent you. I'm sure it won't do anything.
Amazon has it, so no I'd go no further than my front porch.
I'd contact the company and see if any smaller independent grocer's carry their products locally. Those types of stores might be a good spot to try out some other boutique mustards, you never know what you may find.
Yes. Most men have driven further for 6 minutes of sex
Maybe not mustard, but I routinely drive that far for great bread.
I would...for the same mustard.
I usually just eat it straight out of the jar.
Luckily one store locally typically has it when I am hankering for it.

This guy drove 2-1/2 hours and brought pizza too except he said sex wasn't going to happen. "Just hanging out"
Mustard is disgusting, no thanks.
I'd drive that far for a Double Double if I needed to, though. :)

45 minute drive plus 90 minute ferry ride for good cigars. That's one way.
I get it.

I have found that Publix is absolutely ruthless about getting rid of stuff that doesn't sell. So they might carry it for a brief time after you request it. After that it might never show up again

Ahh, the old Carolina mix up!
I've never driven that far for a condiment but as a lover of mustard, I get it. A friend and I once drove 2 hours each way for a $5 BBQ sandwich. It was amazing (the original Rodney Scott's, before he got big).

I once drove something like 40ish miles one direction for a 12 pack of Tahitian treat. Deep into polk county at that, because there was only one dollar general anywhere that listed it. Sometimes it's the adventure.
Tell me more about ba-tampte. This is the first I have heard of it. I switched to Maille a while back and I am pretty happy. Where does the deli style work better than a Dijon?
