My wife and I are attempting to do our first iron butt certification. Saddle sore 1000 and maybe a bun burner 1500. We figured we needed a reason to make it happen instead of making excuse so while we are at it we are doing this www.ironbutt.com/meatlovers1000/

If everything goes well, we should get a saddle sore 1000 cert.

Can t wait!

465 miles away, I guess I could take a longer route home and do it in 24 hours...

Gimmick rides are great.

If I might make a suggestion, go on some long distance casual rides before, so you know how it and you both will feel, and if there are equipment changes necessary. A seat that works adequately for afternoon jaunts may be unbearable after a few hundred miles.

Hi, I am on a vstrom 1000 wifey on a vfr 800. We like riding long distance rides to start with. Last year we did another long distance rally and loved it. Signed up for 2 more rallies this year.

Owner of the Honda shop I worked at did it after work one evening. Left Johnson City, Tennessee, rode to Arkansas on I-40 and came back.

We have been working on getting some kms this year but the weather has been the pits this year. Also have been slowly changing the bikes for ld riding each ride, better seats, better wind protection, riser bars, heated gear, hydration. Since we have started we also have got steadily more efficient about improving our stops to waste less time

If you are thinking of it read the rules and get signed up! It's amazing how energized from doing one of these.

Cheers

What year is her VFR? I've got a 2004 that, aside from the overly-complex nature of the thing, I really like.

Agreed it seems a little complicated at first but not to bad
