Run/Rise Calculator

No affiliation, but I had to share this neat calculator. Let's just say that you should use this BEFORE you try to build stairs...not after. You just put in your dimensions and desired outcome, and it runs the numbers for you.

It also does roof pitches, concrete calculations and other cool stuff.

That info is on a framing square.

I generally try to keep my electronic tools away from sawdust, but yeah, there are some good tools there.

i can figure out what i need to figure out with a little thinking.. and my trusty aluminum framing square and my nifty little triangle speedy square thing..

Memorizing basic trig is faster and more effective than having to rely on a full fledged computer with an internet connection.

The weird thing for me was using the framing square to draw the lines plotted on the website. I suddenly noticed that all the weird little lines on the square started lining up to what I was doing! It's really all you need, provided you know how to use it.
