I am sure people have thought of this. I just got myself a gas powered pressure washer and was thinking of running hot water through it. Straight out of the hot water tank. Any reason I shouldn't? (And no, I didn't read the instructions.)

I used to fix these things for a living.
The valves inside a pressure washer have a plastic cage holding the valve together. Hot water will soften or melt the plastic and cause it to fail.
You're not the first guy to think of it. I met some of the others.
Proper hot water pressure washer heat the water after the pump.
