Dayton OH - Road rally Saturday April 19th

It was supposed to be a few weeks earlier, but the weather forecast had rain all weekend and we only had 2 entries two days before.  So I postponed it, and of course that morning it rained for about an hour very early and 70F the rest of the day...

This time around the forecast is doing the exact same berkeleying thing but we're going forward with it.  I have 9 entries thus far & that's enough for me.

Starts in Germantown at the dam, and works it's way around Dayton for about 2hrs, ending in Xenia at a friend's garage for grilled food.  If anyone's interested, here's the link.  Registration ends Friday 6pm.

We managed to avoid most of the rain, I saw none but a few drivers said they caught a bit between a few stops.  Otherwise great weather!  Joel bought a huge grill on Marketplace just for this and brought it in his car trailer.  I made vinyl decals and applied one to an old toy cone for awards.  The cone winner hit all 9 stops, got all 3 trivia questions right, and bought a root beer at one of the stops (The Root Beer Stande).

Plan to do another in July and one more around Halloween again.

Sorry I couldn't make it, but with Easter weekend prep, I just couldn't swing this one.

Please do post the next event (with a little more notice) and I'll try to bring the crew.  Maybe even the P1800 😉

Very cool. Sadly, it’s been a minute since we have done a TSD rally. Back in the day, my wife ran in a number of them. Sadly, the local club that hosted them is no more.

WOR SCCA basically recruited me back onto the board to resurrect a road rally program.  I'm doing my best, and hope to add some different formats this year and next for variety.  (I did these with my dad in the 70s/80s and loved them.)

Wish I had seen this earlier.  Defenetly post if/when there is another one.
