Is it turning into a buyer’s market? A 1960 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster sold for $1.3 million at The Audrain Concours Auction.

Bonhams called the Mercedes-Benz a “superlative example.”

Hagerty values a 300 SL in No. 1 condition for $1.8 million; No. 2 for $1.5 million. Bonhams, however, estimated the 300 SL Roadster to sell between $1.2-$1.4 million.

Other lots, however, came up below expectations.

A 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 “Lightweight” sold for $428,500, below the Bonhams estimate of $450,000-$500,000.

A 1960 Aston Martin DB4 Series II Sports Saloon sold for $390,000, well below the estimated $500,000-$600,000.

Nevertheless, The Audrain Concours Auction by Bonhams offered 53 lots, with a 96% sell-through rate and $7.2 million in total sold.
