David Hobbs and Mike Hailwood drove this 1970 Porsche 917K in that year's 24 Horus of Le Mans as one of the three entries run by the Automotive Engineering/Gulf Racing team.

The car would retire on the 50th lap of the race, though was able to run as high as third place overall. The car would later end up getting repainted and reused to compete in the 1972 and 1973 European InterSerie Championships, before retiring from competitive racing.

Following its retirement, this 1970 Porsche 917K was restored to its original Le Mans specifications “without regard to cost,” and is currently available through RM Sotheby’s as part of its upcoming Monterey auction.
