Let’s say you enjoy concours events but prefer Porsches to the other marques. Or, well, you crave Porsches. Need Porsches. Are physically addicted to Porsches. Are wandering around the Monterey Peninsula like a junkie, smartphone out, scrolling #Porsche, desperate to see just one more taste of Porsches. Are pleading with your friends to help you find anything—even a 914—parked on the street to help you get your fix.
Then The Porsche Club of America’s Werks Reunion Monterey is the event for you. What’s there? Porsches, Porsches, and more Porsches.
Surrounding a field of concours-quality entries is the rest of the Porsche cult, with vendors, fans and gigantic Porsche car corrals filling a few fairways of the golf course. Spectator entry is free with $40 parking, but it’s a small price to pay in order to see every single flavor of every Porsche, in every single color and configuration, without other marques distracting you.
If you’re in the Porsche cult, Werks Reunion is a religious experience. And if you’re not, watching the congregation is an experience unto itself.
