The Berlinetta Boxer (BB) nameplate first appeared at the 1971 Turin Motor Show, affixed to the brand-new Ferrari 365 GT/4. Two more iterations were built, starting with the 512 BB in 1976 and then the 512 BBi in 1981. Production ended in 1984, when the Berlinetta Boxer was replaced by the iconic Testarossa.
This 1983 Ferrari 512 BBi is said to be a largely original example from the penultimate year of production. It's reported to have only 19,630 kilometers (approximately 12,198 miles) on the odometer.
One of only 1007 built, this 512 is a European-spec model that was imported into the United States in April of 1984. The Ferrari then changed hands a few times before being sold to the current seller in 2018.
The seller notes that the car “has enjoyed exceptional care and thoughtful mechanical attention” over its lifespan, such as an engine-out service that replaced a number of critical components. An oil change and a “general inspection of the overall condition of the car” was performed in 2018.
Finished in its original white paint over a tan interior, this 1983 Ferrari 512 BBi can be found over at Fantasy Junction for $259,500.
