The Toyota Celica may have left production as a front-wheel-drive hatchback, but back in the '80s it was a much different machine.
Take, for example, this 1985 Toyota Celica GT-S. Built in California by the American Sunroof Company, it's one of only 4248 convertible models reportedly produced.
Power comes from a 2.4-liter 22-RE four-cylinder engine that can send 113 horsepower to the rear wheels. The factory also offered a three-speed automatic, but this particular example came equipped with a five-speed manual transmission.
That manual transmission is said to make this Celica particularly rare because, according to the listing, only 1716 convertible Celicas from this time came equipped with the five-speed.
The odometer currently displays 195,000 miles, while the car's description states that it's been "pampered," "garage parked every day and night," and only driven occasionally to "circulate the fluids."
The listing calls this GT-S a "full-time convertible" and adds that it has received numerous new parts, including brakes, suspension, a fuel filter, a catalytic converter and various fluids.
