What better way to celebrate Porsche’s 60th birthday than making a replica of a one-off 356 Zagato Speedster race car? That’s exactly what the Zagato did with this 1960 Porsche 356 Carrera Speedster.

The story goes that French driver Claude Storez approached Zagato, looking to improve the aerodynamics of his Porsche 356 Speedster. The resulting car went on to reportedly nab a podium finish at the 1958 Tour De France, though was lost to time after the Speedster was crashed in a rally the following year.

This 356, made by Zagato for an unnamed customer, is built to be an exact replica of Storez’s unique car, making use of a genuine 1960 356B chassis.

Find this 1960 Porsche 356 Carrera Zagato Speedster going across the block at RM Sotheby’s upcoming London auction, with an expected selling price of $550,000-$600,000.
