The Philadelphia Concours d’Elegance is calling its event “Porsche-delphia,” as it will celebrate the marque in the City of Brotherly Love. What’s one car that checks off all the boxes for love and racing in 1970? How about the Hippie Porsche?
The Hippie Porsche, a 1970 Porsche 917, is currently on display at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum, the location of the Philadelphia Concours d’Elegance. The car may have never won a race, but it did set a lap record and came in second at the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans.
This car will be one part of a collection of Porsches and other classics that will be at the Sixth Annual Philadelphia Concours d’Elegance on June 23-24. The event is presented by Cool Cars for Kids and will support the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
